  KH 1st timer, could use some advice

  hey people, .

  i am soon going into a kh for the first time and i could use some advice around etiquette etc.

  i know next to nothing besides the fundamental beliefs of jws, i personally dont believe in any religion, and that stance isnt ever going to change, however i don't want to come across as rude or disrespectful.

  If she really believes that then what's her motivation in asking you to come?

  "It really is more about me learning who these people are particularly the elders."

  As others on this forum can tell you it is not until you're baptized that you really get to know the Witnesses, elders included.

  Don't. Do. It.

  By taking the first step inside your wife will keep egging you on to go further. Then, should you choose to bail out, your relationship with her will worsen. As for working things out with your wife remember, it is she who owes you not you who owes her.

  Don't remain ignorant of the religion. Quite the contrary, learn as much of it as you can stomach then you'll have a solid foundation upon which you can have a meaningful discussion with her. I suggest that you read Crisis of Conscience to get a good overview of what these people are really like. Also, keep reading this site.

  WT is trying to scare off memorial partakers

  i don't know how many of you still participate in the sunday wt study, but i unfortunately still do.

  even though i was asleep half of the time, i did notice something i thought i should share with the rest, in case you haven't noticed.

  a lot of the paragraphs were worded strongly against partaking and used clear language of intimidation and discouragement toward anyone thinking of partaking.

  The Watchtower is afraid that these noveaux anointed will inspire others into partaking until there's a snowball effect with every nutjob and his sister partaking. Pretty soon children will be wanting to much on those crackers.

  in the city of hefei, in anhui province, china, there is a park planted with 20,000 cherry trees (of 40 different varieties.

  (cherry blossoms are culturally significant in east asia and popular).

  its not quite blossom time yet, but to get an early start to spring these beautiful girls and some artists introduced another form of cherry blossom displays.

  Theists, why does God allow suffering..

  ..specifically, the suffering of animals.

  you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.

  i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

  does anyone else find when using the ipad mini they can't get all of the emoticons?

  i can only see the last column with the umbrella.

  i used to be able to get all of them when the site first changed.

  Not an emoticon issue but I find that the strike application doesn't work for me. When I click on it no strike appears through the selected text. Does anyone else have that problem? I use IE 11 and it doesn't work with Firefox either.
